You may be asking yourself, “What is a makerspace and why is it important?” A makerspace is a revolutionary new way for kids to play, think, create, and more.  This kind of space allows for total engagement of your child. The Maker’s Studio at kiddywampus is geared towards creating and nurturing great thinkers, explorers, creators, and examiners. Makerspaces create a safe environment for open-ended, hands-on exploration and participatory learning. The philosophy behind a makerspace is that these kinds of spaces teach & enable kids’ brains to learn to wonder about a subject in many, many ways and delve deep into it rather than just learning the surface information. Our hope is that when children get comfortable with all of the aspects of “making”—from wondering to invention to alteration to deconstruction and then some--- they will feel empowered to go out in the world and take every opportunity to learn or rather, look for every opportunity to learn.
